There's only one way to describe the way this plane flys......WOW!!!!    I have NEVER flown a 150 that performs anywhere nearly as well as this one.  The controls are crisp and tight, it flys hands off and is incredibly fast.  With two people and full tanks, it was climbing out at 100mph at 700'/min or 90mph at 1100'/min.  150's are just simply not supposed to do that.  Straight and level with the throttle pulled back to 2350rpm, it was still running 110!  In straight and level flight, you'll have to pull the throttle back to avoid exceeding redline.  We are having second thoughts about selling this one or keeping it for ourselves to fly with minimal fuel burn.

Here is your chance to own one of the most inexpensive time building aircraft on the market with an extremely LOW time engine to boot!  Wouldn't it be nice to build your flying hours with a fuel burn of 4.5 to 5 gallons per hour and never have to worry about owning the plane long enough to rebuild an engine?  This is one of the cleanest, best flying 150's we've ever sold.  The straight tail 150's fly far better than the swept tail 150's do with better climb rates, more rudder authority and faster speeds and this one is surprisingly quicker than most.  Deals like this don't come along often.  WE WILL LOSE MONEY ON THIS SALE, but will also have the peace of mind in knowing that the engine is brand new and safe to fly for the new owner.

1962 Cessna 150C, N1993Z

2483 Total time on airframe **This is incredibly low, showing that the plane was not used as a trainer with a well used, high time airframe.
LOW hours since major overhaul - we are currently flying the plane for break in with just 1.5 hours on the plane so far.

*At annual inspection, some very minor chips of metal were found in the oil filter.  We were unsure where those chips came from and refuse to take chances or cut corners when safety is concerned.  The engine was pulled out and sent off for complete overhaul.  The new owner will have a newly overhauled engine and a very, VERY nice C-150 with a fresh annual inspection signed of November 2011.
During engine overhaul, the chips were found to have originated from a worn camshaft.  A new camshaft was installed as well as 4 rebuilt cylinders.  The crankshaft, case, rods, etc were sent out for inspection/overhaul, all new gaskets and seals were used and all accessories rebuilt.  This engine is GORGEOUS, sounds great and will outlast it's new owner.

Ask around - this is one of the years of the best flying 150 ever built and the most desireable.  With light weight and cleaner aerodynamic lines, these planes fly great.  This plane is surprisingly fast for a 150 with short ground roll, great climb rates and super fast in cruise.  At 2350rpm's, it will run 110mph!  Most 150's have a hard time breaking 100mph at any throttle setting.  Once the engine is fully broken in, it will only get better!

Very nice VFR avionics include a King KX125 digital nav/com flip flop radio with built in CDI display (this is a $3000 radio), King KT76 Transponder, SPA 400 audio panel and Apollo Loran (while outdated, the Apollo GPS slides into the same mounting tray).

Interior is in very nice condition, a solid 8 on scale of 10 with the only flaw being faded carpet.  (new carpet is under $200 or you can re-dye this carpet).  The exterior is in very nice condition with some cosmetic hail damage that does not affect the plane in any way other than looks.  Some of the paint is chipped on the wingtips but this could easily be spotted - see pictures.  **There is no corrosion at all - definitely one of the cleanest 150's I've ever seen that shows a constant stream of care.

Engine logs since new, original airframe logbooks were lost over 20 years ago but all airframe
logbooks from 1990 until current are included. There is no documented damage history other than some really insignificant cosmetic hail dings that are barely noticeable.

This is a VERY nice C-150 in outstanding mechanical condition.  One look at this plane shows that the previous owner took outstanding care of it and maintained it well.  It has been updated from the old starter/generator to a key start, the engine is brand new with just a few break in hours on it.  You will have a hard time finding a better flying 150 on the market.  Most 150's on the market were used as trainers and show their age.  With only 2483 hours on the airframe, the plane has only been flown 50 hours per year since new - obviously not a trainer.  With such low airframe time, the controls are crisp and tight and everything works the way it should.  This 150 is more fun to fly than ANY 150 I've ever flown, including one that had the 150 hp conversion!
